We are committed to creating digital tools that truly meet the needs of displaced and newcomer communities. Your feedback helps us provide even better support for you.
As migration policies and global dynamics continue to evolve, the path for newcomers and migrants remains complex. At PeaceGeeks, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what went well in 2024 - a year filled with progress, resilience, and milestones. 2024 was a year where thousands of newcomers made meaningful strides toward their goals, and we’re proud to have been part of their journey.
In 2024, our platforms supported over 162,000 people from across the globe, with visitors from Canada, Jordan, Poland, Pakistan, Morocco, India, the Philippines, Algeria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United States, South Africa, and beyond.
We’re proud to have supported newcomers as they build their lives and careers across Canada, from Ontario and British Columbia to the Yukon and Nunavut.
We’re creating a brighter future for newcomers, wherever they come from and wherever they’re headed.
Launched in the summer of 2024 on Welcome to Canada, our Virtual Career Coach had supported over 100,000 unique users in navigating their career journeys in Canada by the end of the year.
Through tens of thousands of actions on our platform - from practicing interviews, exploring job opportunities, and searching NOC codes, to enhancing soft skills - newcomers took meaningful steps toward their career goals, and we’re honoured to support their journeys.
Here’s what they say:
“The right resources can make all the difference. The Job Board makes it easy to find opportunities tailored to your needs, and the Interview Coach boosts your confidence by making you feel more prepared. I’d absolutely recommend it to newcomers.” - Karthik from India
“The practice interview tool is incredibly impactful for my situation. As I'm currently in school and entering the social work field, being able to go through questions and answers tailored to my future industry, rather than my previous work experience, is extremely helpful.” - Drew from USA
“Without this tool, I would have had to navigate the government website, which can be a bit of a mess. The NOC Code Finder made it so much easier for our PR application.” - Bryan from the Philippines
- Established the Product Development Council (PDC), which engaged four leading refugee and immigrant organizations in Canada and the US to co-design the white-label version: Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS), Jumpstart Refugee Talent, Rescue.org, and YWCA Vancouver.
- Conducted focus group discussions with PDC members to gather valuable insights into SPO needs and ensure the platform effectively supports refugees and newcomers in their career journeys.
- Collaborated with 13 service provider organizations across Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario, engaging 110 individual users to test and refine the platform.
- Published Snapp’s final report in English and French, offering valuable insights, strategies, and considerations for integrating scalable technology tools that can be shared between multiple service providing organizations and complement and enhance SPOs' existing services.
In 2024, our leadership team was at the forefront of critical conversations on the intersection of immigration, technology, and AI. From sharing insights on panels alongside global leaders like Accenture and Salesforce to engaging with IRCC and policymakers in Parliament, we championed innovation that addresses newcomer challenges. These engagements underscore our unwavering commitment to creating tools that drive positive change for newcomers in Canada and beyond.

We stayed connected with the needs of our newcomer community. Through over 1,000 in-depth interviews and online surveys, we gathered invaluable insights to refine and improve our tools, ensuring they address what truly matters. Every response represents a newcomer’s unique experience, and we are proud to design solutions grounded in this meaningful input.
Here’s a glimpse of some of the many improvements we made:
- Added French translations for users in Ontario and improved translations across other languages.
- Added content for new cities and provinces.
- Added a voice interview feature for practicing with voice and text.
- Introduced new job filters and autocomplete suggestions for easier searches.
- Improved keyboard navigation so users can access the site without a mouse.
As we reflect on 2024, we’re inspired by the resilience of newcomers and the power of collaboration. Together, we’ll continue building a future where every newcomer has the opportunity to thrive in Canada and beyond.
