Marketing & Communications Intern

Peace Geeks is seeking a Marketing Intern to assist with Marketing, Communications and Administration. The chosen candidate will work closely with the Executive Director, Marketing Director and Human Resources Director to:

  • Assist with developing a strategic plan for Peace Geeks Marketing and Communications
  • Research and implement appropriate multimedia options for marketing Peace Geeks to potential volunteers, sponsors, partners and donors
  • Assist with developing communication materials aimed at recruiting and engaging current and potential volunteers, partner organizations, sponsors, project teams and other stakeholders
  • Author and coordinate the Peace Geeks blog for and organizational newsletter
  • Assist with social media coordination and promotion
  • Draft fundraising campaign communications, assist with grant proposals and explore partnership and sponsorship opportunities
  • Support general organizational administration as needed

We are seeking an intern who can commit at least 15 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks. Please note that this internship is an unpaid position.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a background in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, International Relations and/or Business Administration, and will also:

  • Have strong organizational skills
  • Be a self-starter
  • Have strong written and oral communications skills
  • Be comfortable giving presentations to small audiences about what Peace Geeks does and how it works
