Human Resources Director
Peace Geeks is seeking a volunteer Human Resources Lead to support Peace Geeks projects
and operations. The candidate is expected to serve on the management team along with the
Executive Director, and the Team Leads for Administration, Technology, Projects and
Marketing. The responsibilities of this position are as follows:
- Work with other Peace Geeks team members to develop a Peace Geeks Welcome Kit
- Work with marketing to develop clear benefits of volunteering, sponsoring or partnering with Peace Geeks (for volunteers, organizations, government and other stakeholders)
- Support managers in the conduct of Peace Geeks operations
- Work with the Projects team to prepare job postings for roles or projects
- Work with the Marketing Coordinator to distribute postings out to relevant networks
- Develop relationships with relevant academic institutions, private sector organizations, government entities and professional associations
- Run recruitment engagements (online, speaker engagements, events) to find new volunteers to work on projects
- Manage the volunteer experience through tools such as post-project surveys and networking opportunities
- Update Human Resources policies as required
Expected Commitment
The expected time commitment for this volunteer posting is between 5 and 10 hours per
week.
Qualifications
Peace Geeks is looking for candidates with the following experience and credentials:
- Degree, diploma or certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution in Business, Human Resources or related field
- 3 - 5 years work experience in a Human Resources role
- Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems)
- CHRP or working towards the designation preferable
