Fundraising Team Lead

Peace Geeks is seeking a volunteer Team Lead to assist with developing and executing a fundraising strategy to help advance Peace Geeks operations. The Fundraising Team Lead will work with the Executive Director to identify priority target sources of funding and develop relevant proposal and grant applications that can help the organization to move forward. This person is expected to work between 4 - 8 hours per week on the the following activities as well as other initiatives that advance the financial stability of Peace Geeks:

  • Developing a strategy to identify priority sources and types of funding, including public sector grants, private sector funding (such as from organizations with Corporate Social Responsibility mandates), funding from Foundations, individuals, international institutions, and other sources.
  • Drafting funding proposals and grant applications targeting priority organizations, governments and individuals
  • Developing a strategy for soliciting individual donations through the Peace Geeks web site, social media and other online fundraising tools
  • Researching appropriate multi-media options for attracting financial support
  • Providing guidance to the marketing team to develop materials aimed at soliciting partner, sponsors and donors


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a university degree and/ or a at least 2 years experience in a relevant role. This person should be experience in working with non-profit organizations and should be comfortable working independently – but with the guidance of the Executive - to develop and execute an fundraising strategy. This candidate is also expect to:

  • Have strong organizational skills
  • Be a self-starter
  • Have strong written and oral communications skills
  • Be comfortable talking to groups about Peace Geeks’ mission
